This is Primary Election Day in Livingston County and the rest of Illinois. Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Locally, voters will decide who will win the four seats on the Livingston County Board in District three. Candidates include: John Yoder, William Peterson, Carl Borngasser, Ronald Deany and Stanley Weber. Also, county residents will decide whether Ken White or Marty Meredith receives the republican nomination for Livingston County Sheriff. There will also be a couple of questions for voters in Pontiac. One question will ask for a 50-cent tax increase in the Pontiac Grade School District 429 – to benefit the school’s education fund. Another question will ask if Pontiac Township High School District 90 should issue 7.5 million dollars in school building bonds to help pay for building upgrades. And, propositions in Sunbury, Newtown and Nevada Townships will ask voters if township trustees should pass a resolution opposing the approval of any wind energy special use permit application filed with the county before January 1, 2015. Statewide, voters will decide who receives the republican and democratic nominations for governor, lieutenant governor, and U.S. Senator.
