No one was injured when a small explosion damaged the side of a barn southeast of Fairbury Thursday afternoon. Officials say methane from manure or a propane gas leak may have caused the incident, at 6444 North 24 Hundred East Road. Firefighters were called to the structure around 3 p.m., when smoke was seen coming from the barn and a small fire was noticeable near stored pig manure. The explosion reportedly occurred in an empty part of the barn, which houses pigs.
