Health Department receives grants
Health Department receives grants

The Livingston County Health Department has once again received funding for the Ticket for the Cure program. Health Educator Lori Lake says the main goal is to reduce the rate of invasive breast cancer in Livingston County women. The department’s Dominique Hodges says some educational events are planned. The department continues to work with other community agencies and cancer survivors to help plan and implement awareness and educational events. Meanwhile, the Livingston County Health Department has also received a $4,000 grant from the state to help combat childhood obesity. The state recently announced grants to improve women’s health, during Heart Disease Awareness Month.
