A golfing tradition continues at Pebble Beach
Although the PGA Tour season has been under way for the last few weeks the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am in California kicks off the season in all its glory. What makes this tournament unique?
It started off as a small get together with Bing Crosby and his buddies called the “Clam Bake”. Soon thereafter, professionals started to participate and it has blossomed into a major stop on the PGA Tour. It pairs amateurs, namely celebrities, with pros in a team and individual format.
One of last year’s winners was D.A. Points who played for the University of Illinois. Who was his teammate? It was none other than ‘Caddyshack’ icon Bill Murray.
It should be a great weekend of golf in one of the most beautiful settings on the PGA Tour.
