Investigation results in arrests

SAUNEMIN – A police investigation into some recent burglaries has resulted in the arrests of two people.

Livingston County Sheriff’s Police say Noel Cottrell, 18,  and a 16-year-old juvenile were arrested Friday by sheriff’s detectives with assistance from the county’s Pro-Active Unit and the Pontiac Police Department.

Cottrell is accused of burglary, criminal damage to state supported property, burglary to a motor vehicle, possessing stolen property, possessing cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia.  The juvenile faces similar burglary charges.

Burglarized locations included Saunemin Grade School, the Saunemin High School gymnasium, a Saunemin residence and several motor vehicles.

Authorities say anyone who has had property stolen and not previously reported should contact Livingston County Sheriff’s Police for more information.
