PONTIAC – Pontiac Township High School’s FFA chapter will hold its main fundraiser this weekend.
The PTHS FFA meal and auction is planned for Saturday, with the meal starting at 4 p.m. and the auction at 6 p.m.
FFA member Will Lannon says the auction has become an annual tradition in recent years.
“It is our fifth year doing this. We will have three sections of our auction: live, silent and labor auction. With our live, that will start at 6, silent starts at 4 in the commons and the labor auction will include students offered for a certain amount of time you can buy,” said Lannon.
FFA Advisor Parker Bane says the school tries to turn ownership of the event over to the students because it is a good learning experience.
“We try to turn over ownership to them, because once they leave our doors they are going to be taking care of us in a few years,” said Bane.
If you log on to www.pontiacffa.org, you can see a list of what has been donated for the auction. Also, businesses can enter information online if they would like to donate.
