Sheriff will award $500 scholarship

PONTIAC – The Illinois Sheriff’s Association will award over $53,000 in college scholarships to students wishing to pursue higher education during the 2012-2013 academic year.
Livingston County Sheriff Marty Meredith will award one $500 scholarship. Applicants must be a permanent Illinois resident, scholarships must be utilized at institutions of higher learning in the state and students must be enrolled as a full-time student during the 2012-2013 school year, excluding summer session.
Applications are available at the Livingston County Sheriff’s office on West Lincoln Street in Pontiac or online at: ilsheriff.org. Students must complete the application, answer the essay question and return all documentation to the Livingston County Sheriff’s office by March 12.
