Unemployment down for Livingston County

SPRINGFIELD – Over-the-year unemployment numbers were down for Livingston County in the month of November.

The Illinois Department of Employment Security reports that the county had a rate of 7.8 percent last month, which is down from 8.9 percent in November 2010.

During November, the unemployment rate dropped in nine metro areas, increased in one and was essentially unchanged in two areas compared to last year.  Over the year payroll jobs increased in nine of the 12 metro areas.  The largest increases were in Kankakee-Bradley, Peoria and Rockford.
