There are movies in my life that touched me and have stayed with me into my old age. The Bella Lugosi “Dracula”, the first two “Star Wars” movies, “Jaws” and “Close Encounters of a Third Kind”, but one that defines my high school years is “The Breakfast Club”. Well, that iconic 80’s movie is coming out in theaters as a 30 year anniversary release March 26th and 31st. More than 400 theaters across the country feel the way I do, that this is an event that deserves to be celebrated.
The movie has been restored and also has a bonus feature from the stars themselves discussing what the movie meant to them. I won’t go see the movie in theaters, but I will pull out my DVD and watch it at home. Afterall, “You see us as you want to see us – in the simplest terms, in the most convenient definitions. But what we found out is that each one of us is a brain… and an athlete… …and a basket case… …a princess… …and a criminal… Does that answer your question? Sincerely yours, the Breakfast Club.
