Streator Police is asking for the public’s help with information about a robbery that occurred Sunday morning.
According to a press release issued over the weekend, at approximately 9 a.m. Sunday, employees from Streator Drugs, located at 109 E. Main Street, called 911 and reported a robbery that had just occurred.
Employees described the suspect as a white male, approximately six feet tall, wearing a tan coat, red hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and athletic-type shoes.
Upon arrival, Streator Police began searching the area for the suspect with no luck. Upon further investigation, it was determined the suspect entered the store concealing his face and displayed a knife.
Police said the employee complied with the suspect’s request and gave him an undetermined amount of cash. The suspect then exited the building and fled the area on foot.
The incident is under investigation by Streator PD, LaSalle County Sheriff’s Police and the Untica Police K-9 Unit.
