The latest forecasts say snow, sleet, and freezing rain will be part of the morning commute Tuesday morning (3-3). According to the National Weather Service, snow will begin to fall at about 3 a.m. with less than an inch of accumulation expected. At around sunrise, rising temperatures will create a situation with freezing rain, sleet, and snow mixed. The accumulation of snow and sleet should be less than an inch, and less than a tenth of an inch of ice is expected. Because of the timing of the activity, however, driving is expected to be hazardous as most people head to work. The NWS says extra time for travel should be allowed and caution should be exercised. All of the precipitation should turn to rain after about 9 a.m.
