Earlier today, the Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (IPMR) signed a Letter of Intent to affiliate with OSF Healthcare System (OSF), one of the largest integrated health care systems in Illinois. According to a press release received from Kristen Johnson / OSF Saint Francis Medical Center Public Relations, OSF and IPMR share a vision to provide quality care that delivers the best health outcomes within a patient centric environment. This partnership of two highly respected medical organizations will expand access to quality rehabilitation care.
“We’re confident that the affiliation between IPMR and OSF HealthCare will allow us to better serve the community’s rehabilitation needs.” said Rick Zehr, IPMR President. “Our collaboration provides the opportunity to create innovative care models and programs that promote and support population health and wellness.”
“We’re excited to build upon our existing rehabilitation services by offering new services and programs that will enhance our current compliment of offerings,” said Kevin Schoeplein, OSF Healthcare System CEO.
“This collaboration is in line with our vision to transform health care to improve the lives of those we serve. By aligning with IPMR, together we’ll be able to collectively create the best experience and outcomes for our patients.
Next steps include discussion and planning for this new comprehensive service, merging the strengths of each organization, along with a period of due diligence where each organization spends time learning more about one another. The decision to move forward is expected later this year.
