The American Cancer Society and the National Council on Skin Cancer Prevention are encouraging everyone to protect their skin Friday for “Don’t Fry Day.”

Memorial Day holiday weekend typically brings people outdoors enjoying the warm, sunny weather, and with that, protecting your skin from harmful ultraviolet rays becomes important.

The American Cancer Society advises of an easy way to reduce your risk of skin cancer, the most common type of cancer in the United States, which is also largely preventable. The guidelines of Slip, Slop, Slap and Wrap will remind people to slip on a shirt, slop on broad spectrum sunscreen, slap on a hat and wrap on sunglasses.
