State Representative Tom Bennett took a moment recently to reflect on the approaching deadline for the Illinois General Assembly.
Bennett gave support for Governor Bruce Rauner and many of the lawmakers in Springfield, but said there is still a lot of effort from across the aisle to keep Rauner’s plans from materializing.
“We’re asking Democrats to help us look for bipartisan ways to resolve issues now. The people of our district deserve better. The people of Illinois deserve better,” Bennett said. “We are now in the last week of session. We have no clear answers for pensions, for budgets, for education, for public health, for agriculture and the list goes on.”
Bennett said he is still hopeful they can do some serious and helpful things for the people of Illinois.
