Wind Farm Decision Passed to Board

The Agriculture, Zoning and Emergency Services Committee of the Livingston County Board met last night to discuss the fate of the Pleasant Ridge Wind Farm.

The Zoning Board of Appeals, who has conducted dozens of hearings throughout the past several months, made a decision earlier this week to make a recommendation to deny the proposed special use permit for the project.

Livingston County Planning Commission Administrator Chuck Schopp said the decision was made and the committee chose to pass the measure to the full board next week for a final decision.

“They have the options to accept the recommendation to deny. They also have the option to accept the application or approve the application with conditions,” Schopp explained.

The full board will meet Thursday, June 11 at 6 p.m., where the board will vote on this decision.
