Tie vote causes continued Wind Farm discussion

A tie vote in the motion to deny the Pleasant Ridge Wind Farm special use permit application at last night’s Livingston County Board meeting caused some confusion in the well-attended meeting.

Board Chairman Marty Fannin explained a new motion was made was to forward it to the board chairman and attorneys to discuss special considerations and economic benefits package if it were passed in next month’s meeting.

“I know there are a lot of unhappy people,” Fannin said. “If it becomes 12-12 again next month, that motion would be denied. Things can happen between now and then. Minds can be changed. I just hope that everybody doesn’t get up in arms and realizes they need to go back to work and talk to their county board members and relay how they feel because there is another vote next month.”

A podcast from Fannin’s guest spot on Community Forum with Todd Wineburner will be available at wjez.com
