The Fairbury Woman’s Club named Carol Hoffman the 2015 Citizen of the Year winner.
Carol Ely, treasurer for the club, said Hoffman is a cancer survivor and is known for her help with cancer patients and many other things.

“She’s active in her church and she’s a retired teacher. She’s a past Junior member. She’s been very active in the community here,” Ely said.

Books in Hoffman’s honor will be available at the Dominy Memorial Library, and she will have her name added to the plaque at City Hall, as well as a gift certificate from Lost in Time.
