Donors will be welcomed Wednesday at the monthly Pontiac Bloodmobile.
With summer months upon us, the need for blood rises and Dixie Vogel, chairperson of the Bloodmobile, reminds people of the importance of donating blood.
“We expect it to be at the hospital if we ever need it,” Vogel said. “It’s a real struggle at times to have that. We’re very fortunate in this area. We have a lot of good donors. We have safe blood here, but any excess we have, we usually end up exporting it to another part of the country.”
The Bloodmobile will be at the Pontiac VFW from 11:30 to 4:30 Wednesday. This event is being held in honor of leukemia survivor Bill Swanson.
