Over the 31 years of covering sports, I have learned it’s all about connections. With Johnsburg coming to Pontiac High School Friday night, I have found another one. Coach Deboeuf played his football at Lemont High School and his coach was a former player I worked from Seneca – Jason Aubry. Coach Aubry then went on to Johnsburg High School, and his assistant coach was Coach Deboeuf. When I say it’s a small world, it really is. Coach Aubry is now at Joliet West, and Coach Deboeuf will bring his 7-2 Skyhawks to Williamson Field Friday night for a 7:00 p.m. playoff contest. I will preview this matchup all week on the morning sports.
