This week is “Pride in Food Service Week,” which recognizes individuals working to provide nutritious meals and snacks to people year around.
Food service workers can be found in long term care centers, hospitals, retirement centers, schools, correctional facilities, day cares, hotels, military services and other non-commercial settings. They receive ongoing training in food safety, sanitation and food service preparation.
This annual celebration, which began February 1 and runs through tomorrow, focuses on those who spend their lives serving those in the healthcare environment.
