The Pontiac Fire Department recently promoted Andy Hoeniges to the rank of lieutenant.

Pontiac Fire Chief Scott Runyon said he was promoted from engineer firefighter and has been with the department for 15 years.

“He’s worked his way up through the ranks and he’s going to be a great asset at the officer level,” Runyon said.

Hoeniges’ official swearing in took place Monday evening at the Pontiac City Council meeting.
