Merriam-Webster just announced a bunch of new words they’re adding to the dictionary this year.  The editors make their choices based on a word’s impact on the English language, and whether they believe it’s here to stay. 1.  FOMO.  It’s the acronym for ‘Fear Of Missing Out.’  Here’s their definition.  “Fear of not being included in something, such as an interesting or enjoyable activity, that others are experiencing.” 2.  Meet-cute.  “A cute, charming, or amusing first encounter between romantic partners, as in a movie.” 3.  Hella.  “very, extremely.” 4.  Revenge porn.  “Sexually explicit images of a person posted online without that person’s consent, especially as a form of revenge or harassment.” 5.  TMI.  “Too much information.” A few others that are also being added are Bitcoin . . . cold turkey . . . gastric banding . . . and wacky tobacky.
