Some of the most beloved movies were delayed in production due to the craziest things. For example, “The Shawshank Redemption” was delayed due to the baby bird the character Brooks took care of. Not the baby bird, per se, but the maggot he fed the bird. The ASPCA wouldn’t let the bird be fed a live maggot.
