The University of Illinois Extension is partnering with OSF Center for Healthy Lifestyles to offer a new program called “Dehydrating Foods” Thursday, May 26, from 5:30 to 7.

Jenna Smith, nutrition and wellness educator for the Extension, said this will teach people how to use a food dehydrator and just how many foods can be produced with the product.

“So we’ll make some fruit leather, some jerkey, some vegetables and some dried fruits as well. We’ll learn all kinds of different, wonderful recipes, take home some recipes and taste some of those good things, too,” Smith said.

The class will be held at the OSF Center for Healthy Lifestyles at 2200 E. Washington Street in Bloomington. The cost is $20 and registration can be done by calling 1-888-627-5673.
