The CornBelters gave up 10 runs in the second inning in falling to the Evansville Otters 14-2. The series wraps up tonight at the Corn Crib with a 6:35 first pitch, WJBC.com pre-game is at 6:20. The home stand continues through Sunday.

The Chiefs won their 5th in a row 5-3 at Kane County.

High school baseball regionals…Fieldcrest topped Illini Bluffs 4-3. LeRoy shut out Lexington 9-0. Blue Ridge over Roanoke-Benson 3-1. Central Catholic blanked GCMS 10-0. Bismarck-Henning eded Olympia 3-2 to set up a regional final with the Saints on Saturday.

In Regional softball, Eureka beat El Paso-Gridley 7-4. Heyworth eliminated host Blue Ridge 5-2. GCMS over Milford 3-0. Central Catholic advanced to the regional finals in softball with a 2-1 win over Olympia. The Saints host Maroa Forsyth on Saturday.
