The Livingston County Farm Bureau Young Leaders are hosting the Farmers’ Share Breakfast from 7 to 10 a.m. Saturday, June 4, at the Kilgus FarmStead in Fairbury.
Livingston County Farm Bureau Manager Jody Hughes explained why they offer a full breakfast of biscuits, gravy, scrambled eggs, milk, coffee and orange juice for only $1.
“The purpose is to show if you go to a restaurant for breakfast, you may pay 8 or 9 dollars. And of that, the $1 we charge is what the farmer is actually making. He has grown all the food on your plate we are going to have that morning and that’s his share of the price,” Hughes explained.
For more information or to RSVP for the breakfast, contact the Livingston County Farm Bureau at 844-1103.
