It was recently announced that OSF Center for Health – Streator will remain at the Spring Street location in Streator.
Streator Mayor Jimmie Lansford said he’s happy for this decision.
“I’ve been lobbying for it since the day the transaction took place because I thought it made sense to use the facility because it’s been well maintained and I think it has the opportunity for greater expansion. At the same time, where it’s located, the community has accepted that as the center of the community and the fact that their healthcare services will still be provided in that area. I think it’s great. Plus it gives us the opportunity…we’d like to see the entire building occupied,” Lansford said.
Karen Broadbeck, vice president of public relations for OSF HealthCare said is looking to fully utilize the facility and offer more and new options for local patients.
“Our goal is to occupy the entire building with things that extend beyond traditional medical care to really look out for the health and well being of the entire community and just being there to serve their needs,” Broadbeck said.
