A parade showcasing Pontiac’s Special Olympics athletes is planned for 2:30 this afternoon.
Susie Studebaker, one of the coaches for Pontiac Township High School’s Special Olympics team, was a guest on a recent Community Forum along with some athletes heading to the games in Normal this weekend, and she described what’s happening leading into the opening ceremonies on Friday.
“Thursday at 2:30, the Torch Run Parade will be starting at Central School. They will go through Downtown Pontiac and, it’s a small thing, and it ends at County Market. It’s really awesome. All of the Olympians who are in our school will be there. It will be a cool thing,” Studebaker said.
