The University of Illinois Extension is holding a horticulture class for children called “Gifts from the Garden” from 9 to 3:30 Tuesday at the Livingston County 4-H Park.

Kelly Allsup, Extension horticulture educator, said the day is jam packed with events for area youth.

“We’re going to make our own paper with seeds and then the kids can actually plant the paper, then we’ll make some beeswax lip balm and candles and making some art out of flowers by pounding them until they give up their color on a piece of paper, then we’ll teach the kids how to make butterfly feeders to get more butterflies to come to their garden,” Allsup said.
