A Pontiac man was arrested Wednesday morning for possession of cannabis.

According to the Livingston County Sheriff’s Police, Joshua Baker was arrested after the department assisted Livingston County Probation with a probation check in Pontiac and found 83 grams of cannabis and paraphernalia in the 700 block of South West Street.

Sheriff Childress said he and his department will continue to combat the drug issues in the county.

“I want the citizens of Livingston County to know that it’s my intent as your sheriff to combat drugs in Livingston County as fiercely and as positively as I can. I also want the citizens to know that my personnel are committed 1000 percent to going after illegal drug trafficking in Livingston County. I don’t care whether it’s in the city, in the country or on the highway, no matter where it is, you can rest assured we are going to go after it and we are not going to hold back,” Childress said.
