Saturday fire in Fairbury destroys shed

A shed full of hay burned late Saturday night north of Fairbury.

According to Fairbury assistant fire chief Martin Steidinger, the fire was discovered around 10:45 and firefighters responded to the structure located just north of 1000 N. 2200 East Road. Steidinger said some farm equipment and all the hay was lost in the fire and there were no injuries reported.

Forrest, Strawn, Pontiac, Saunemin, Chatsworth and SELCAS assisted at the scene.

Steidinger said the scene was cleared around 1 a.m. Sunday and the cause of the fire is undetermined.
