A recent Tri Point High School graduate from Emington was one of four FFA members in the state to be named as a State Star in Agriscience.

Seventeen year old Kacie Haag was awarded this honor at the recent State FFA Convention in Springfield after a long interview process.

“It’s definitely a huge resume builder for me. It was just a goal of mine to do that. I thought about doing this since my freshman year, so it’s great to fulfill that goal and hopefully it will help me get a job. I just can believe I was that lucky to have it. I know my grandpa, dad and I worked really hard for this, my ag teacher as well, and it was blessing I was able to get it,” Haag said.

The convention was held June 14-16.
