Providing Access To Help, otherwise known as PATH, recently announced they have been forced to close several programs they offer for services for the elderly.

Karen Zangerle, executive director of PATH, explains more.

“I think we have all the symptoms of facing loss. There can be the loss of a parent or the loss of a friend, but for us it’s a loss of a program that we have had since 1985 – our outreach program for older adults. We know how vital our program is and the people who work in that program have been with us for many years and do an outstanding job. I’ve been here more than 30 years and I always thought our stability was in providing services for those 60 and older. I would never have dreamt we’d be in the place that we are today and it greatly saddens me,” Zangerle said.

Zangerle said for those they serve who still need services after the closure, should dial 211 and they will be directed to other services that will help.
