Walking around the Livingston County Ag and 4-H Fair can bring back many memories, from those of showing animals, to completing projects to enjoying rides.

For Livingston County Farm Bureau Manager Jody Hughes, her memories include growing up showing swine at the fair, but the difference is now, she’s in a position that she can still be involved, while watching today’s fair participants do what she did growing up.

“I’m the oldest in my family. So, we started out toward the bottom of the class, for the most part, but we were still having fun. Looking back now, we were learning a lot of life lessons. I made some of my friends who are still some of my best friends today. These kids are out here winning ribbons and the show is important, but in the long run, we’re teaching them skills, they’re taking care of these animals and they’re making lifelong friends,” Hughes said.

The fair ends this evening after the Monster Truck Show at 7:30.
