The 35th annual Memphis to Peoria Run for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital is underway, with the Minonk to Peoria satellite run happening Saturday.
The group is comprised of runners from the area, including many from Livingston County and will be accepting donations, which can be dropped off at Lydia’s Cup in downtown Pontiac. Team members will also be at Walmart Friday from 3 to 7. Donations can also be made online at http://fundraising.stjude.org/site/TR/PeoriaRuns/PeoriaRuns?px=2546509&pg=personal&fr_id=51590.
The group exceeded last year’s goal of $100,000 and is hoping to bring in $125,000 this year.
St. Jude’s goal is not only to end childhood cancer, but also to ensure that no child or their family pays for treatment, travel, lodging, or food. St. Jude’s wants to ensure the only thing the children & their families have to worry about is getting better.
