The Friends of the Dominy Library are holding a summer book sale which began yesterday and will end Saturday.

This sale is being held in conjunction with the city wide garage sales and the Prairie Dirt Cassic and Janet Kilgus, president of the organization, explains what the funds are being raised for.

“We are very close to a promise of $5,000 to the library board to help them convert everything from the microfilm to digital so that people can access the things in the archives from online at home. We are also saving money for a lighted flag pole out front. So, we have big projects in mind to help the library and the citizens of Fairbury,” Kilgus said.

Visit the library from 9 to 5 today and 9 to noon tomorrow to check out the sale. For more information, visit facebook.com/friendsofthedominylibrary
