Secretary of State Jesse White announced Monday that his office has reinstated the mailing of vehicle registration reminder notices to Illinois drivers.

The office had discontinued mailing reminders in October of last year due to lack of funding as a direct result of the state budget impasse. The recently passed stop gap budget allows White’s office to reinstate the notices.

More than 800,000 drivers signed up for email notifications when the reminders were discontinued, and that can still be done by visiting cyberdriveillinois.com.
