The Livingston County Board met Thursday evening and further discussed language for a referendum concerning wind energy.

Livingston County Board Chairman Marty Fannin has more.

“The question that is going to be on the ballot is, the preamble – A yes vote would be a vote to support the distance of 1600 feet between turbines and residences. A no vote would be a vote to support significantly increasing the distance between wind turbines and residences. In your township, do you support a distance of 1600 feet between wind turbines and residences, rather than increasing the distance by more than double, which may reduce the number of wind turbines built in your township. It’s a yes or no question. I’m hoping everyone that hears that understands the question. If you don’t understand the question, get a hold of your county board member and make sure you understand what it is you’re voting on,” Fannin said.
