With rain in the forecast in the area on and off all week, here are some tips to make water damage to homes less likely.

Insurance providers suggest adding or updating drainage for your home, which includes gutters and downspouts to divert water away from your home. Other suggestions include installing a sump pump and updates to windows and doors to make sure they’re water tight. Calls to roofers and plumbers to check the condition of those in homes can be beneficial so problems can be caught before they present themselves, potentially causing more expensive damage than the cost of an original repair.
