With school in full swing for the majority of area students, safety is key when traveling to class.
Pontiac Police Chief Jim Woolford commends the high school aged and younger students traveling by foot or bicycle when heading to and from school, but wanted to give some safety precautions.
“I just ask that you stay on the sidewalks. Stay out of the roads when you don’t need to be in the middle of a driving lane, because it’s dangerous. Be careful and pay attention to where you’re going on your way to school. Be safe and have a great school day,” Woolford said.
Woolford will be a guest on the Community Forum tomorrow morning at 6:45, where he will address traffic hot spots and tricky crossings when it comes to getting your youngsters to school.
