The Illinois Department of Transportation is announcing road work on Illinois Route 17 west of Dwight to begin Monday.
According to a press release from the department, work will happen at the interchange ramps of Interstate 55 and Route 17, which will be closed intermittently, as concrete pavement will be patched. The closures are anticipated to finish in a week’s time, as contractors are planning on working around the clock.
All traffic going to and from Interstate 55 and Illinois 17 will be directed to the I55 and Illinois 47 interchange.
Motorists are encouraged to use caution when traveling through the work zone and along the detour route.
