The Threshermen’s Parade kicks off at 1:15 Sunday, with more than 140 units participating in this annual event.
Mindi Terrell, executive director of the Pontiac Area Chamber of Commerce, gave some highlights of the parade.
“We’re excited to have the Department of the US Navy Band – Great Lakes here this year. South Shore Drill Team will be here this year. We’ll have Pontiac Township High School marching Band, the Pontiac Municipal Band, the Flanagan-Cornell High School marching band. We have several of the local Shriner Clubs coming with their little cars, and of course we’ll have tractors. We’re excited that the South Shore Drill Team will do a special performance on the square right after the parade and as of right now, the weather is looking beautiful for Sunday, so we’re hoping it’s going to stay that way,” Terrell said.
The parade route runs down Mill and Main Streets and one block of Madison Street on the north side of the Livingston County Historic Courthouse.
