Meadows Retirement Community in rural Chenoa is holding a swing dance fundraiser for all ages Saturday beginning at 6:30.
Darla Heath, volunteer and development coordinator, said the evening will begin with a class, followed by a dance with a DJ.
“We’re very proud to have our instructor, John Young, who is from The Next Step Dance Studio in Bloomington, teaching. He’s also DJing for us. He’s also a friend of Meadows. He came to Meadows to perform for the residents of Meadows with a group and he loved Meadows so much and had such a heart for what we’re doing that he’s volunteering his time for this fundraiser. We are asking $10 for single and $15 for a couple to participate. We’re hoping to get a good crowd there,” Heath said.
This fundraiser will benefit the Residents Assistance Fund, which helps the residents of the retirement home with any financial assistance needed.
