The University of Illinois Extension – Livingston County will be hosting a free class every Friday in October, which will focus on managing diabetes with diet and physical activity.
Jenna Smith, registered dietician for the Extension, said “I on Diabetes” is a free hands-on class for those who have diabetes for care for ones who do.
“We are actually going to be doing cooking demonstrations at each session and with the cooking demonstrations, you will actually learn how to provide or how to prepare a full, complete meal that is diabetes friendly. So, it’s wonderful. You’ll get to taste those, of course. You will actually get four free meals, as well as all the recipes and information that we provide,” said Smith.
The class will be held from 9 to noon at the Extension office at 1412 S. Locust Street in Pontiac every Friday in October. To register, call the office at 815-467-3789. Space is limited so register early.
