A Braceville man is dead after a hit and run early Saturday morning on Route 17 near Reddick.

According to Livingston County Coroner Danny Watson, 23-year-old Forrest J. Durancik was found at the railroad tracks and was hit by an unknown vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Deputy Coroner Steven Zeller.

The accident is being investigated by District 6 State Police, the Illinois State Police Reconstruction Team and the Livingston County Coroner’s office.

Anyone that may have seen or heard anything in the area of the accident is encouraged to call one of the investigating agencies.
