The Livingston County Board met last night and discussed items on the Fiscal Year 2017 budget.

The board approved the budget to be put on display for 30 days before it is voted on at the next meeting. Board Chairman Marty Fannin explains why.

“We have to display it for thirty days by law. Interested parties, the public, anyone can come back and say there’s an issue by going through it. It’s good checks and balances so it gets out and people get to see it. If people have questions or if there’s a mistake, it can get caught before it goes into full effect,” Fannin said.

People can find copies of the budget at the Livingston County Historic Courthouse or by visiting livingstoncountyil.gov.
