October is known for ushering in cooler weather, shorter days and the colors changing in the trees.
Ed Lipinski, director of the Humiston Woods Nature Preserve, was a guest on a recent Community Forum and described what can be seen at the woods in the coming weeks.
“One of the great things about being out in nature is to view changes all year long. Fall is a favorite time for a lot of people because it’s so dramatic and we get to see the color changes in the trees, especially, and in the bushes and the shrubs. So that’s when we’re going to see the yellows, the browns, and hopefully some reds, depending on what trees we’re looking at,” Lipinski said.
