PROUD has several new and favorite events planned for this week.

The Christmas Light Up Parade begins Friday at 6:30, with the route beginning at the First Lutheran Church on Grove Street, winding around downtown and ending at County Market. The next day, in conjunction with Small Business Saturday, they are holding a new event, aimed at the children of the community.

Jessi Finkenbinder, interim director of PROUD, explains.

“Friday, November 25, is going to be our light up parade at 6:30 p.m. The following day on Small Business Saturday, we’re doing a free movie to the public at Crescent Cinemas movie theatre and we are showing “The Polar Express.” The doors will open at 10 a.m. and the movie will begin at 11. The movie will be free to the public,” Finkenbinder said.

Finkenbinder also said all children will automatically get one entry into a drawing for a giveaway with their admission and have opportunities to purchase more entries.
