Heartland Community College in Pontiac is looking to help people fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, better known as FAFSA, coming up on November 29.
Becky Gropp, associate director of public information for HCC, said these forms can be confusing, and as the deadline changed from March 1 to December 1, they are offering classes to help people finish applications before the deadline.
“Anytime between three and 6 p.m. we’ll have people there to help you fill out that FAFSA form. What you’ll need to bring for that is your 2015 federal income tax form, a driver’s license or state ID, the amount of any untaxed income you received, and if you’re a dependant, just bring your parent’s most recent federal income tax form,” Gropp said.
HCC is located at 211 E. Madison Street in Pontiac.
