Congressman Adam Kinzinger, who said numerous times before the recent election that he couldn’t support Donald Trump, has since changed his tune.

The newfound support of the president-elect came on election night.

“Look, I’m actually feeling really great. Donald Trump has surprised me in a very  good way, starting with his statement on election night – very humble statement about uniting the country, uniting the parties. And the picks that have been put out so far for folks in the cabinet around him have been very good, and obviously showing he’s willing to reach outside just the people who were onboard with him from the very beginning. He wants the best team around him. As a congressman – a Republican congressman – looking forward into next year, we have a great opportunity to do some really big things for the American people – to get this economy growing again in the way it should be and in the way people deserve to get wages up, to get folks to have their jobs and opportunities. I’m really looking forward to it and I think it’s going to be an exciting few years ahead of us and I’m really looking forward to working with him,” Kinzinger said.
